Oblinger (2006) states that “learning occurs in classrooms (formal learning); other times it results from unexpected interactions among individuals (informal learning).” It is important for educators to allow students to have the opportunity to gain learning experiences from formal and informal learning spaces.
Classrooms and learning experiences have evolved in a variety ways, there a large range of learning spaces that are incorporated into schools in the 21st century.
The learning spaces that will be explored are;

· Beyond the classroom
· Electronic learning spaces
· Individual learning space
· Group learning space
· Learning in the 21st century.
